How I work with you…
Counselling is about helping you to understand yourself better and supporting you to make the changes you want to make to your life. At Leeds Mindful Counselling you won’t be told what to do or given advice but you will have a safe, confidential space in which you can explore the issues that are bothering you right now. By gaining an understanding of these issues in the context of your life as a whole our work will promote personal awareness and insight in ways that support long lasting change and growth.
You can’t stop the waves but you can learn to surf
Research shows that one of the major factors that supports change is the quality of the relationship between therapist and client. We will talk about why you’re seeking counselling at the moment and what you want to get out of it. We’ll work together to identify an appropriate focus – whether you are looking for a few sessions to deal with something specific or you feel you need longer term support.
People are often beset by issues from the past and concerns for the future and that this is a major source of stress, anxiety and depression. I utilise mindfulness within my work both to be fully present to you, the client but also to promote your own resilience and strength to cope with the challenges that life inevitably brings.
