I have been working as a counsellor since 2010. I have experience of working in the charitable and voluntary sectors, the NHS and higher education settings. I have worked with adult clients presenting a range of issues including anxiety and depression, cultural difference, relationship issues, bereavement, work related stress, eating disorders, addictions, sexual abuse.
At the centre of your being you have the answer; you know who you are and you know what you want.
Lao Tzu – 6th century Chinese Philosopher
My work is informed by an interest in attachment and how early relationships shape our adult selves. I have trained in mindfulness and use this in my work with clients to promote change arising out of a greater sense of personal insight and awareness which in turn can support a greater level of resilience and self-compassion. I am open to helping clients explore issues they may have relating to their spirituality.
I also have over 20 years experience of working in a major public sector organisation including 10 years in senior leadership posts. From this I have gained particular insights into the challenges which working in large organisations can pose. Where appropriate, I use my experience in this field to work with clients in a solution focused way.
